The Lessons
They have no knowledge who carry about their wooden idols, and keep on praying to a god that cannot save. There is no other god besides me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is none besides me. “Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other. By myself I have sworn; the word has gone out from my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that to me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance." Isaiah 45:20b,21b-23
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly desires, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all lawlessness and purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works. Titus 2:11-14
Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, upholding the universe by the word of his power. Hebrews 1:1-3a |
